Greetings, my name is Jens Cole, I am the Founder of Vessel Projects and here is my story:
I was born and raised in beautiful Malibu, California where I cultivated, at an early age, a great curiosity and awareness of human behavior, self-discipline, and performance in myself and in others.
I have always been an engaged learner when it comes to human behavior and human performance. One could say it's in my blood to care about humans as much of my family was in the world of psychology.
My grandfather was a pioneer in applied behavioral psychology and behavior strengthening.
My grandmother was as a psychiatric nurse.
My mother is a nurse anesthetist and my father was a professional chef.
Being creative, intellectually curious, and caring for others have been qualities that have painted the mosaic of my life.
At a young age, I found myself attached to the art of conversation with those older than me. I remember I would sit and talk with anyone desiring to converse at our dinner table, for hours, even after everyone had finished eating. Asking questions about the world, others' lives, history, our family’s history; anything that seemed to tell a story and contained thought-provoking material.
This habit persisted into my young adult life and obviously beyond, as I took immense pride and passion into learning about those who came before me and those around me.
Throughout my young adult years, a diversity in extracurricular activity and sport was an imperative aspect of my life, as well.
At the age of 9 I was formally performing to test out for a black belt in Tang Soo Do. In the 4th grade I began an instrumental journey with the violin, and would continue to embrace the instrumental arts all through grade school and high school.
At the age of 15, I decided to focus my efforts in the sport of water polo where I would one day commit to play NCAA Division I Water Polo for Pepperdine University’s Men’s team for 5 years. I have been thriving in the world of high-performance athletics for nearly a decade as both an athlete and coach. As a D1 athlete for the Pepperdine University Men's Water Polo team, I deepened a unique understanding of effective mindset, challenge-perception, leadership, team cohesion, and personal-balance.
Through my years in high-performance athletics, I have been equipped with a powerful skill-set for leading, as well as facilitating the development and transformation amongst individuals and teams.
My passion and purpose for individual and team transformational empowerment was further significantly cultivated through my journey in completing a Masters in Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, ranked #3 for top dispute resolution programs in the nation. It was here where I mastered the power of actualizing the paradigm shift towards conflict and life-challenges, from negative-oriented to positive-oriented, from disadvantageous to advantageous, from a hindrance to a strengthening, from a wall to a platform, a roadblock to a bridge.
Mastering various modalities such as Coaching and Consulting, Team/Group Facilitation, Mediation, Employee Disputes, and Psychology of Conflict Communication, I was equipped with a thorough, expertise-level understanding of subjects and modalities such as personal transformation, leadership development, team and organizational effectiveness, conflict-management and interpersonal communication strengthening.
These skills and this knowledge are all directly applicable to life and business, and it is here where my coaching and consulting practices converge with YOU and your TEAM, as a client of mine.
My goal is catalyzing empowerment and transformational growth in my clients, and
I want to provide ALL of this knowledge and passion with YOU and or your TEAM!
